What to do When it Rains at Your Wedding

Every stereotypical rom-com has a scene where the two lovers run to each other in the pouring rain as they realize they were meant for each other all along. Make-up is streaming and hair is sopping wet, but it doesn’t matter because the girl got her guy. Now picture this scene on your wedding day. Normally bad weather would be a nightmare, but these are a few ways to find the sunshine on your rainy days. Wait it out Everyone’s mom has probably told them to “quite crying over spilled milk.” Sometimes it can be the same way with bad weather. Although it may look like it is going to pour, you may find that the weather will hold off just until you finish your wedding. So if cloudy skies are in your forecast, don’t panic. Always remember why you are having this wedding--to marry the man of your dreams! Embrace it Another option is to just embrace the rain! Some of the cutest pictures come from rainy days. Many have gotten creative throughout the years. Sometimes the bride and groom are hiding under a canopy or a tree. Sometimes they are even just hiding under the groom’s suit jacket--just trying to not get wet. When the pictures are taken at night, the raindrops look like tiny stars, creating a beautiful atmosphere. Use Props Still another option is to use cute props in your photos. It is not everyday that a bride gets to experience rain on her wedding day. Turn it into a fun memory and wear rain boots or get a cute umbrella. Instead of doing the typical pictures under a veil, take pictures through a clear umbrella. Your wedding day is all about living in the moment and creating memories. This is one of those moments you will be laughing at for years to come. Please leave a comment and tell us what you have seen happen at weddings in the rain -
