    Weddings in a Pandemic

COVID-19 sure has thrown the wedding world through a loop. Brides and grooms everywhere have been forced to postpone their big day, or celebrate with fewer people than they hoped for. In spite of various challenges, couples have taken a firm step up to the plate and we are loving their pandemic wedding plans! Over the next week or so, we’ll be rolling out a few articles offering tips for weddings during the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as some personal anecdotes from newlywed couples. Today’s post will provide you with a general overview of topics we’ll be covering. The Wedding Party Wedding parties often consist of the closest friends and family members of the bride and groom. But COVID-19 may have restricted who can take part in this intimate and special assignment. How can you include those who may be immuno-compromised or feel uncomfortable filling this responsibility given the current circumstances? If you can’t all meet together to plan for the big day, what’s the best alternative? The Reception A major highlight of any wedding is the reception. Friends and family come together to celebrate the newly-married couple with good food, music, and dancing. But what do you do when COVID-19 restrictions get in the way of tradition and potentially throw a wrench in your plans? The Ceremony Many wedding ceremonies have been cut down in size considerably. How should you determine who attends the ceremony in person? Is it worth considering a virtual ceremony? Where can the ceremony be held? All these questions and more will be discussed in the days to come. In the meantime, happy wedding planning! We welcome your comments. Please leave a comment with any other items you would like to see discussed -
