Choosing a Wedding Hairstyle to Complement Your Dress

Arguably as important as your wedding dress is your wedding hairstyle! The way you style your hair can either complement or contrast the style of your dress. Here are our recommendations for picking a hairstyle that will not only match, but add to your overall look. Hayley Davies TV nude teens hayley_tv If your dress has a lot of elegant detailing on the neckline and sleeves, you won’t want to draw attention away from that- for this reason, we recommend a chignon. This loose bun at the nape of your neck will never go out of style! Pulling your hair back will keep your look classy, as well as allow the intricate detailing along your neckline to shine. To spice it up and add some flare, many brides are choosing to dot the hairstyle with tiny pearls, or add a bling-y hairpiece. Wearing a boho-style dress with large, loose sleeves creates a carefree look that will be complemented by a carefree hairstyle. For this we recommend playing up your natural hair texture- something that has become more mainstream ever since the pandemic. A half-up, half-down style is a great way to add elegance to your natural texture. Our personal favorite style is a fishtail braid crown with flowers woven throughout. If your dress is following the current trend of square necklines and puff-sleeves, we recommend topping off the look with a very fun and current hairstyle- the bubble braid! Bubble braids are a fun twist on french braids- they add more volume and much more personality. This style is fun and carefree, but can also be made elegant if you weave ribbons, flowers, or pearls throughout it.  Finally, for brides with a more form-fitting dress, wearing your hair down will add movement and balance out your silhouette. If your hair is long but needs a bit of shape, we recommend the recently trending butterfly cut. This haircut is full of layers, so it will allow brides to keep their length in the back but add volume and bounce in the front. Shorter layers in front will frame your face nicely, especially if your veil covers your hair in the back. We hope this helped, and whatever style you choose, we are confident that you will look stunning on your wedding day!

The venue is probably going to be your biggest expense. Around $8,000 to $12,000 for a reception venue alone along the Wasatch Front. But there are genuinely beautiful places in Utah that cost nothing or close to nothing.
