There are so many pieces that go into a wedding. This can equal high stress and high cost, but it doesn’t have to be that way! There are tons of ways to cut corners when it comes to cost, but trying to lower costs on your wedding can sometimes be equally as stressful as just sacrificing your wallet. Fear not, take a breath, and try to focus on one thing at a time – like your wedding invitations for example.

Wedding invitations can be intimidating all on their own. Where to get them, how to make them, what pieces are actually necessary… so many questions! Lucky for you, we’ve got answers and budget friendly tips, tricks, and ideas on how to save money and in turn stress!

First, what is considered wedding stationery?

  • save the dates
  • bridal shower invitations & thank you cards
  • wedding invitations & enclosure cards
  • day of essentials like place cards, menus, & programs
  • guest book
  • thank you cards
  • wedding announcements

In addition to all of that you have your accessories like belly bands, envelope liners, and address labels.

That may seem like a lot, but not all of it is a necessity. So, what can you forgo in order to save? First, you need to consider your individual needs. Every wedding is unique and will require different demands. As a rule of thumb be sure to focus on what you NEED and not what you WANT.

Here are a few examples to get you started!

In some cases, save the dates are not a necessity. Why? As long as you are sending out invitations with ample time for guests to plan and reply there is no need for a pre heads up. If you are having a destination wedding however, save the date postcards are a nice gesture as plans will require much more effort.

When it comes to your personalized bridal shower invitations have your maid of honor start a Facebook page or create a group text. Invite guests this way and designate other bridesmaids or family members certain tasks to be sure the shower goes off without a hitch.

On the contrary, one of the most important things are your thank you cards. Thanking your guests is an absolute must! A trick of the trade, add thank you cards to your bridal shower gift registry!

Expert tip…forget about multiple enclosure cards and instead condense your info into three organized cards: invite, rsvp, and an information card which will have accommodations, registry info, and directions all on one!

Saving money on your wedding is not so hard, but if you still aren’t convinced or have a little wiggle room for your invitations head over to our Announcements / Invitations page.
