You just got engaged! Congratulations, and welcome to the crazy whirlwind that is planning a wedding. It can be very daunting and overwhelming to plan a wedding, especially now when everything is so uncertain. We’ve come up with a few great ways to stay organized and keep track of all your to do’s, expenses, meetings, and more!

Buy a planner that’s just for your wedding

You can go to nearly every store near you and buy a cute, cheap planner for under $10! Or better yet, check Amazon. Having a planner with you at all times so you can refer to it for meetings and appointments, what’s coming up, and keeping track of important lists is great for having everything wedding-related in one place. You can even get smaller sized ones that fit in your purse! It’s also great to be able to add to it on the go as things come up. For a more customized and personalized planner, look into creating a bullet journal!

A planner is a great tool for keeping everything in one place for your big day. You can refer to the monthly calendar to see what has been scheduled and when, and seeing it all in this layout eliminates the possibility of a forgotten appointment or a surprise payment that’s due. Have your bachelorette party planners and bridal shower throwers set a date for those events early on, so you can have them on your calendar as well.

Utilizing the weekly and daily to do lists allows for more details to be written in, and you’ll be more aware of what’s happening in the immediate time frame.

Planners also have great features to make important lists like your budget, your bridesmaids, and more.

After you’ve attended an appointment, use a highlighter to signify that it’s been done. Use another color highlighter to cross off a payment that’s been made; use a third color to cross off something from your to do list. There’s endless possibilities of keeping track of what’s been done and what still needs to be.

Create a separate Google Calendar that matches your planner

Another great way to stay on top of everything involved with wedding planning is so have reminders on your phone. Because let’s be real, most people always have their phone with them, and when it dings, you’ll check it.

Google Calendar has a feature that allows you to create another separate calendar from your personal one, and you can use this feature to make a wedding-specific one. You can input reminders, events, goals, and tasks. There’s even a way to input recurring events, and set reminders for those events whenever you want. This is a very powerful tool that’s actually very easy to use if you play around with it for a little bit.

Download a digital planner

In addition to the endless possibilities for hard-copy planners, there’s even more online! This could be great for someone who prefers to have everything on a device, rather than a physical copy. There’s even options for wedding-specific planners to download onto your tablet, for example, or with the option to print it off. This tool is especially useful for someone with a tablet that has a digital pen feature, to make writing in last minute tasks easy, or for personalization. A great place to start looking for a digital wedding planner would be Etsy!
