Wedding beauty prep is traditionally focused on the bride. However, in the past few years male wedding grooming and hygiene has really exploded. Men want to look good on their wedding day, and women expect it. Fortunately for any men worried about looking good on their wedding day,  this 10 step grooming guide will give you the beauty tips necessary for a marvelous and manly marriage.

1.) Diet and Exercise. It’s important to feel at the top of your game before your marriage. Make sure to go to the gym and eat a healthy diet for at least three months leading up to the ceremony. This will help you feel confident, relaxed, and happy on your special day.

2.) Hair. Men have lots of it. Making sure to trim both up top and down below will prepare you for your wedding day and your wedding night.

Up top: learn what head shape you are and find a style that fits. You don’t want to change too much right before your wedding, so stick with something familiar, but be sure to get your wedding haircut a full week before to allow any stray hairs to grow into a more natural look. If you’d like you can even tune up your eyebrows with some waxing or threading to make sure you’re picture perfect for your wedding photos.

Down Below: Manscaping is becoming increasingly popular, and having an idea about how you want to tame your bush is definitely something to consider before your wedding night. Shaving can lead to uncomfortable itching and in grown hairs, so many opt for laser treatments or waxing when trying to shape that fuzz. Bro-zilians and manzilians are commonplace these days so make sure to check out all of your options when waxing for your wedding.

3.) Teeth Whitening. This is maybe the best way to ensure you’re ready for all those pictures. Stained teeth or not, your smile is gonna be used a lot during your wedding and its important to make this investment. Special toothpaste, whitening strips, or visiting a professional are all options good options for an improved look.

4.) Pick your scent. Everyone has heard of a manly musk, but what’s yours? Taking time to find a signature smell will definitely wow your bride to be! You could even take her along to find what she likes! Cologne is a game changer for any groom to be.

5.) Tailoring. Make sure that your clothes fit! No amount of exercise will make up for baggy or overly small clothes. Get a tux or suit with a fit you like. Never settle. Your outfit should be tailored and customized to your body and image preferences. Take time to research different styles and fits so you can let your tailor know exactly what look you are going for.

6.) Nails. So many grooms overlook this detail until they see their wedding pictures. Making sure to clean your nail beds and get your cuticles looking cute is key to getting those good looking ring photos. So much of your wedding will be focused on your hands, take time to clean them up a little. Remember, you are never too manly for a man-icure.

7.) Tan. Getting that sun kissed skin will help any group look great for their engagement, wedding, and honeymoon photos. There are so many choices from tanning beds and spray tans to completely customizable airbrush tans. Just make sure to find a professional and get tanned in advance so you can know what to expect for your wedding date. No one wants to be surprised with an unnatural looking skin tone.

8.) Skin care routine. Get your skin figured out long before the wedding date. If you need to, see a dermatologist or cosmetologist for advice! This should be done sooner rather than later so that your skin is familiar with any new products you start to use. Take care of your skin, and you will feel confident and handsome on your wedding day.

9.) Hydrate. Every groom should drink plenty leading up to their wedding. This will help with everything from weight loss to clearer pores. Water is one of natures greatest resources for beauty so make sure to fill up before the big day. You will likely be walking around and talking to people for hours. Drinking will help keep you from getting a headache or losing your voice.

10.) Massage. Weddings can be stressful and visiting a masseuse before or after can be great for your mental health
